Thank you to players of People's Postcode Lottery

Thanks to support from players of the People's Postcode Lottery, we are providing services and activities which support older and vulnerable people to stay active, well and connected to their communities.

During the coronavirus pandemic, we were unable to bring our community based clubs and groups together so thanks to support from players we launched the Virtual Village Hall to help keep minds and bodies active.

The Virtual Village Hall features a programme of free video sessions led by expert tutors, Royal Voluntary Service activity coordinators and volunteers. Activities include gentle exercise, arts and crafts, recipes and baking, technology skills to something different such as beatboxing, Bollywood dancing, laughter yoga and Zumba Gold.

Recent funding awarded by Postcode Support Trust, who People’s Postcode Lottery manage lotteries for, means that we can continue to grow the range of activities on offer on the Virtual Village Hall.

"In these troubled times, Royal Voluntary Service has stepped up to the plate and in a very 'up to date' way is offering myself and others, who are needing to isolate at home, a chance to catch up with the things they usually do but now cannot, things they would like to explore further, things they would like to try but perhaps would never be brave enough to try in public, and even things that they have never considered."
