Who are we?
Royal Voluntary Service is a charity which helps people who are lonely, isolated or need support to get the help they need. Often this help is provided by volunteers who provide the help for free.

What is personal data?
Your personal data is information about you. This could be things like your name, where you live, your date of birth or your address, it could even be things like your personal email address or social media username.
There are some types of data which we have to be extra careful with. These are known as special category data. This could be something like information about your health, your ethnic origin, your religion or your sexual orientation.

What personal data we collect about you will depend on the way in which you interact with us. We will usually collect your name, address, email address, telephone number and any other information you provide to us (for example if you’re asking a question, information about that question).
In certain circumstances we may collect other information from you. If you want to make a donation, we will ask you your age and for your payment details. We will capture your image on CCTV in our buildings and if you go onto our website, we’ll collect technical information about your computer like your IP address and settings and what you do and where you while you are on our website.
Where do we get your personal data from?
It will usually come from you, or from someone close to you, such as a parent or carer.
Why are we collecting your personal data?
We collect your personal data so that we can make a record of our interaction with you, or to do something you’ve asked us to do, like answer a question or send you some information.
