Cornhill Companions
The Cornhill Companions is a befriending and good neighbour service. Volunteers visit older people in their homes and help with ad hoc tasks.
Royal Voluntary Service’s Cornhill Centre in Banbury is open five days a week and offers a weekly programme of volunteer-run activities, including art and crafts, gentle exercise, dancing and music.
The centre is home to Cornhill Companions friendship service along with other charities such as Banbury Talking Newspaper and Parkinson’s UK Banbury branch.
The centre has spearheaded and is involved with many projects such as Move It or Lose It!, Winter Warmers, tackling loneliness tea sessions and more.
The centre’s café is open from 10am-2pm for drinks and volunteers are on hand to share information about local activities that maybe be of interest to local people.
From dancing to crafts, book clubs to knitting, new social groups are starting all the time. If there is something you would like to do and we don't have it arranged: don't be shy, let us know and we'll do all we can to make it happen. More groups will follow as volunteers become available.
If you would like to become a volunteer and start a group - Let's talk! Get in touch or pop in and chat with one of our team.
